How does curiosity help you to be a better Pilates teacher?

Staying curious is your key to success

When I was a newly qualified Mat Pilates teacher I walked into my first class feeling nervous but prepared. I was armed with my exercise list and thought I had it all sussed.

Instead, I fell over at the first hurdle. I knew the first exercise I wanted to teach but never considered how I would introduce the exercise, how to get clients set up or what to say apart from
‘Hello and welcome!’

I did want to leave the room and never go back. I also knew I had to get through it. My first class was a shambles but instead of crying and feeling like a complete failure, I chose to become curious. After all, I knew how to teach. I just didn’t think about how my previous knowledge applied to teaching Pilates.

I developed a series of teaching tools to answer questions teachers had about how to teach movement so clients could grasp what they were saying. I honed these techniques over 20 years and feel confident that this approach will not only help you to teach with more clarity but also help you grow your business. I love showing teachers how I can help
them change their future and the futures of their clients.

Did you ever think that curiosity could be the most life-changing business growth exercise in the world?

It is.

To completely transform people’s lives with your unique approach to teaching your classes the ONLY thing you have to do, is get clients curious about movement and teach them with care and a genuine interest in their wellbeing.

I’ve been helping new and experienced teachers develop their teaching skills for the past two decades.

During that time I have been asked thousands of questions about how to teach and manage client expectations. I consistently have questions about how to feel confident about how teachers teach. Many feel a lack of confidence and that they are just an imposter. Until we can resolve these feelings we cannot teach from the heart. So in your Starter Kit, I cover:

The top 3 strategies for instantly overcoming lack of confidence and feeling like an imposter are:

  1. Use power poses
  2. The power of touch and breath
  3. How to use positive affirmations
  4. # 1 Bonus: Positive affirmations workbook.
  5. Understanding your why? You teach Pilates
  6. #2 Bonus: Your why? statement worksheet to download

And guess what?

All these strategies are answered in your Teach Pilates with Confidence Starter Kit, so don’t forget to check it out.

time management is not as important as energy management to avoid burnout
By Tania Huddart 28 Aug, 2022
We hear a lot about time management but not enough about energy management. We can structure our time, but things can get pretty complicated if we don't know how much energy we're spending on our business.

It's easy to be confident when you work with people you resonate with. Pilates is a very adaptable movement modality so you can target those you want to work with and that will appreciate what you do and inspire you.
Creating classes that transition well makes your class feel like a story, not a random list
By Tania Huddart 19 Aug, 2022
A class that flows creates a deeper connection for clients with their bodies. They also want to come back to your classes for more. I like to think of flow in a class as a way of telling a body story. A story people can get engrossed in and come away with a renewed sense of awe.
