Our Pilates teacher training uses Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) guidelines and is designed specifically for the New Zealand market. We tailor our training to suit students' differing goals, learning styles, and backgrounds.
Hearts and Bones Pilates offer four course options for instructor training.
Each course comprises a number of modules. You can study each module in a series that will lead you to a Mat, Reformer, Equipment, or Comprehensive Hearts and Bones Pilates Instructor qualification. You can also study modules separately to add to an existing qualification.
To qualify from each instructor course, you will need to:
You will receive a letter of completion for each module after you have attended all the required classes.
Once you have fulfilled all course requirements and passed the examinations, we will issue you with your Hearts and Bones Pilates® Instructor certificate.
To maintain your Hearts and Bones Pilates instructor qualification, you will need to complete an additional 10 hours of continuing education every two years.
You can earn these hours by attending workshops led by Hearts and Bones Pilates® certified instructors or other workshop programmes approved by the Pilates Method Alliance.

Feedback from training courses:
Tania is very clear, precise, and encouraging. The atmosphere is very supportive.
Tania is approachable, friendly, welcoming, and respectful. I love the way she uses examples from sports, clients, and life and applies knowledge to individual needs. I especially appreciated the use of the skeleton to help me with anatomical understanding and gained new insight into the use of tactile, verbal, and imagery cues.
Relating Pilates to everyday life was really useful to me. I really enjoyed the 'hands-on' nature of the course. Thank you.
Tania has great confidence in herself and inspires confidence in me and my abilities. Great passion. The printed material complemented the physical practice really well.
Wonderful demonstrations. Huge base of knowledge. Thanks for sharing.
I particularly appreciated the critique and observation feedback you gave us about our teaching. It was excellent.
The methodology behind Tania's teaching is particularly valuable to me. She guides to use a mixture of different learning media like reading, observation, physical and teaching practice time. The ease with which she communicates makes it easy to ask questions at any time.
I really like the opportunity for repetition of teaching practice of specific exercises. Helping us to make connections between similar exercises on the equipment was really useful. The courses were taught at a good pace giving time to absorb the information.
Tania gives us opportunities to teach, and the variations, as well as modifications, for different posture types and physical restrictions are invaluable.
